this is an interesting article from tribalfootball.com. i was quite surprised reading this as all people already acknowledged, WC 06 was indeed a match of all time. however, i was wrong as statistics showing below, more and more people are watching english premiere league. arsenal and man utd are no doubt the center of attention since only God knows when. especially when both teams were captained by controversial patrick vieira and roy keane for arsenal and man utd respectively. matches involving both teams have always been a good match to watch. yesterday, arsenal were showing the visitors how serious they are to retain champions this season and will not back down as easily as man utd thought would be. its goin to be a tough season as we knew it would be and i am pretty sure wengers rotation policy will excel.

Arsenal's Man Utd clash drew bigger audience than World Cup final tribalfooball.com - November 04, 2007

Yesterday's clash between Arsenal and Manchester United was watched by more people than last year's World Cup final between France and Italy.

The Times says the battle of the Emirates was watched by an estimated one billion people, the highest ever TV audience for a Premier League game. A spokesman for the Premier League confirmed that the match was available in 600 million households in 202 countries. As Sir Alex Ferguson said after the 2-2 draw: "No one will be asking for their money back".
If those figures prove correct, more viewers tuned in to watch the Gunners v the Red Devils than switched on for the 2006 World Cup final, which reportedly drew 715.1 million viewers across 214 countries
