double disappointed for me this midweek, not only Real didnt get the 3 points, but also the fact i couldnt watch the game last night. pretty obvious capello wanted to rest his starting XI on the bench coz Real are definitely through to next stage and this game wouldnt send them packing empty handed. i was glad capello decided to bring on ronaldo and led the attack instead playing cassano as a sole striker. i dont know the details coz as i said before, i had to sit silently and patiently watching the scoreline went 2-0. shocked as i was, but clearly reading ronaldo brought Real to a fair result even pushed me off my seat. lyon drew, so it wont change the scenario much as ppl expected. anyhow, i read reviews from all sources and they giving me a huge lift that nobody in Real scored an own goal, coz that would be a more embarasing defeat. i assumed Real played their usual game in the 1st half that resulting two goals conceaded against their side. 2nd half was much better and beck kept his eyes on target as he supplied more and more threat to kyivs goal and he almost scored on the 53 mins!. not bad for a right footed player to play on the left, this could be a solution for capello who prefers robinho playing at that position. ronnie being his closest teammate in Real, quickly praised his teammate for his role in helping Real to avoid embarassing moments. he said "David is a player that understands me completely," he cadded. "Without looking forward he knows where I want the ball and I understand what he is going to do". they have been playing together for nearly 4 yrs now and it seems capello overlooks this advantage and instead playing his fav 4-5-1 formation that freaks me out. anyway, hopefully his magnificent display earn him a place in starting XI and not only as a sub when one of the starters goes down of an injury like usually capello does.
anyway, champs league gone and now comes the battle of the season. yes, this is definitely not the game we expect from el classico but a lot more pressuring. barca, Real and sevilla are seperated one point from each other and this sat game against sevilla will prove whos the match winner and possibly would be the the champion at the end of the season. theres no guarantee barca will lead the pack easily like they did a season ago when other contenders had fallen asleep before a match concluded. sevilla lay in 3rd place and im sure they are unwilling to be left behind and be the 'loser' of the game beaten by arch rival Real Madrid. 3 yrs ago, sevilla was just another team trying their luck in la liga but in the past two years they have been extraordinary and won the UEFA cup last year beating ste-c side (deservedly so). amazingly they started the season with winnings and steal #1 spot from barca. its goin to be tricky game for Real as they will have to travel to sevillas stadium known for their hostile salutes to visitors and it wont be good for faint heart players such as robinho and pavon (luckily he most probably wont be in the game). if capello decides to drop ronnie for his preferred formation, we'd definitely goin to finish him off after the game, considering if they lose. Real have to play what they expected to play and not to fall against any side in la liga, esp title contenders. if they win, they will distance themselves from sevilla and keep barca sweating heavily for the rest of the season. BUT if they lose, its goin to be more complicated then it already has. the key is, concentration and not let the home team dominate possesion!. i will be most happy if i could see beck on the field and helps his team win the match, but again, my wish always comes empty handed *sigh*
