i came across this article from goal.com and was actually laughing my heads off. i didnt expect FA would have come clear about their dislike toward john terry after 18 months. he has been acting like a celeb since his stardom with chelsea 3 years ago. abramovich saga has helped chelsea to be where they are today. superstar players such as sheva, joe cole (he was nobody back then), pizarro, etc have become accustomed to fame and glory. JT is someone who is admired by all english fans around the world especially the blues fans. fame comes with price though. JT likes to gamble and when his payroll reaches a hundred thousand of pounds, he becomes a lot more attractive to most ladies and of course, owner of casinos. i dunno why did ste-c picked him out of other england players and stood by his decision even after hearing such news from local tabloids and newspapers. perhaps ste-c himself was seeking a piece of the fame itself. at least, people are realizing what kind of player he is. if let say england future manager, fabio capello decides to stick with JT, i have to bear him in all england matches. its capello decision anyway. becks is supposed to captain england during a friendly match against switzerland on february 08. and it also to commemorate becks 100th caps with england. i think its going to be a fantastic match. although england failed to bid their appearance in EURO 08, i still wanna see becks running and fighting again. anyway, enough talking...dig in people...oo i mean pls read and enjoy....
Terry Desperate To Remain England Captain
John Terry has revealed that he is anxious to hang onto the England armband despite growing speculation that the FA are displeased with his leadership example.
John Terry could be set to lose the England captain's armband under the new manager, thought to be Fabio Capello.
Reports have claimed that the FA are unhappy with Terry - given the role by Steve McClaren - as the figurehead of the team, feeling his constant hounding of referees and irresponsible behaviour off the field sets a bad example to youngsters.
Pressure could be put on the new boss to select someone else, while David Beckham seems certain to skipper the side next time out in what would mark his 100th international cap.
Let Me Keep My Armband!
Terry knows the decision is out of his hands, but pleaded be allowed to continue leading out his country. “The new manager can come in and change things completely. That’s his decision and I fully respect whatever he decides," he said.
“Whoever the new manager is he’ll make the right decision for England — not for John Terry or Steven Gerrard or for anyone. But I want to keep the armband and drive this thing forward. I want to keep my armband and make England successful.”
