real madrid coach bernd schuster told media how madrid had lost two world class players (roberto carlos and david beckham) to other clubs and they suffered at the beginning. however, they have been able to pull through and win important matches midway though the season. ive been a real madrid fan for 4 yrs now and i still think there are things mr schuster needs to focus on including his fragile midfielders. they have good midfielders roaming around the center but they are not forming strong bond with each other, thus opponents can easily sneak through pass them without much hassle. plus those midfielders are lacking creativity to support real forwards. there are times they will play a very entertaining football with possesion around the field but it usually doesnt last long. they are very weak when it comes to away games and im sure mr. schuster is very aware of the problem and will address it as soon as possible. are real madrid capable to win champs league? i dont think so. they have so many weaknesses and havent been able to fix the problem in proper manner. however, who am i talking such as that. no one ever predicted greece would have won EURO 04 and i am certainly not capable to read the future. in football, anything can happen.
here is what he has to say...
"Fortunately the team won the League last year. They didn't play well, but they won. Had they not, it would have made things a lot worse because so many wanted immediate success. When I signed, we lost Roberto Carlos, the best left-back in the world, and Beckham, one of the best players along the right flank. They were big shoes to fill in one summer, but we've solved most of our problems throughout the season."
